Weight is never a fun topic however weight loss is.  I've always struggled with my weight, I'm definitely an emotional/stress eater AND I really like sweets.  I don't think that will ever change.  I was very successful at losing weight 9 yeas ago working out at Curves and doing a modified South Beach diet.  The weight just totally fell off, no joke.  It was easy...and THEN I got married and had a kid and losing weight wasn't so easy.

Our move and adjustment to South Carolina was very stressful and I packed on the pounds.  I finally decided to get my rear in gear so I started walking/running, using the app MyFitnessPal and adding one more workout a day the Bikini Mommy Body Challenge.  At first I didn't see results.  I was working SO HARD!  SO HARD!!  BUT then something magical happened, I started gaining muscle and losing inches.  Imagine that?  Good old fashion exercise and diet really works.  The past year I've lost 26 pounds which isn't a lot but like I said I only really got serious 4-6 months ago.  I have lost quite a few inches.  I'm able to get into my capris that I wore before I got married - this was a huge deal for me.  I wish I could go back and track my inches lost but I didn't keep up with that all but I can feel it in my clothes for sure.

So let me talk about two things that really worked for me...

Bikini Body Mommy Challenge

I found BBMC via Facebook awhile back and thought I would give the 2.0 90 day challenge a whirl.  It's 20 minutes a day and you don't need much equipment which is nice.  The best thing?  It's FREE!  BBMC posts youtube videos of the workouts and I do my workout along with her.  Did I mention it's FREE?  No gym memberships, you can do it anytime of the day from the comfort of your own home.  I'm not going to lie some days are super hard!! 

The 2.0/90 challenge is starting back up on monday and I will be doing the workouts again.

There is also a meal plan that you can follow, diet is extremely important in weight loss as we all know.  It's a little more involved then I would like so I didn't do that but instead I use the app MyFitnessPal.


There are all kinds of ways to lose weight.  Some people don't like counting calories but you do what works for you!  For me at this point I love this app.  You input all your goals, weight, etc. and it will give you a daily calorie count that you should aim for.  You track your meals, snacks, exercise and water intake.  There are also ways to sync it up to different apps like FitBit and MapMywalk.  Another great reason to use it?  It's FREE!

Now you might think it's going to be a hassle to use but you don't have to try and figure out what the calories are in the foods you are eating.  It has a scanner where you can just scan the bar codes on the food items, it remembers previous meals and it has a HUGE database of foods that you can just look up your food item.  It does take a little bit of work but weight loss is work and a healthier you is worth the work.  I still indulge in my sweets and I like a good glass of wine but I'm seeing major progress.

I know this is a long post...I guess what I'm saying is - LET'S DO THIS!  WHO'S WITH ME??
