I just got back from spending my birthday weekend in Chicago with my longtime friend. We had an amazing time! It was my first time to the windy city and we managed to squeeze a lot into two full days.
We started at the Field Museum, I really wanted to see Sue the most complete T-Rex skeleton. She was pretty grand. (By the way I actually learned how to use my Canon on manual and not automatic. This trip was my first attempts...let me know what you think!)
We then headed to the Hancock Tower where you take a walking tour around the top...the tour is narrated by David Schwimmer. Ha! It was pretty impressive taking in all of Chicago! This photo was taken through the window.
We shopped along the Magnificent Mile...I bought this fabulous purse in brown at Top Shop (I didn't take this pic).
You can find this ginormous Marilyn Monroe on Michigan Avenue.
We also checked out the Navy Pier...holy moly it was windy! I ate for the first time at Margaritaville...good margaritas Jimmy! View from the end of the pier.
And the ferris wheel...
We rode the hard rail and the el train...that was...interesting. Of course we had chicago style deep dish pizza at Giordano's. It was TASTY!! We even stayed the night at the Knickerbocker hotel...fabulous!
All in all it was great to catch up with my bestie and reminisce over old times.
